L'assemblée fut levée à Midi.
The Annual general meeting of the Association was held in St Gilles, Quebec, on July 7th at the same time as the Boutin gathering. Over 50 persons were presents and each of us introduced ourselves with the residing place. The President then informed the participants of the points that were to be discussed. The treasurer presented his report and we were satisfied to found out that we presently have on hand, the sum of $10,637. The election was held and four members were re-elected as directors. We are really proud to count on such valuable persons on our board. During the question period, the president of the recruiting committee made her report; we presently have problems recruiting new members and keeping them; people have less time to spend on leisure and it is now harder to keep our members. One member suggested to lower the age average on the board of directors in order to re-energize the Association. One member suggested that we should modify our name to : Boutin Association of Americas in order to include all Boutins of both north and south America. Since we find Boutins in Europe and in America, the actual name include Boutins from both Americas. Since next year will be our 25th anniversary, we plan to mark this date with a special event; suggestions are welcome and, some members suggested a cruise-supper on the "Louis Jolliet" on the St Lawrence River in front of Quebec City. Some others suggested a cruise on the Saguenay River. We would certainly be happy to count on visitors from other Provinces of Canada and the U.S.A. This activity will probably take place in July or August of next year. The meeting ended at noon.
